Accreditation

The
University of Technology, Jamaica considers the evaluation of
its programmes to be of paramount importance.
The University Council of Jamaica (http://www.universitycouncilja.com)
has registered The University of Technology, Jamaica as a
tertiary institution whose programmes are eligible for
accreditation under its aegis.
The UCJ accredits individual programmes offered
in an institution, rather than the entire institution.
The following programmes are accredited by the UCJ as of
February 2005:

BBA (Post-Diploma) – all specialisations

B. Sc. Administrative Management

Accreditation applications have been submitted for the following

degree with the UWI)

B. Sc. Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management
A UCJ accreditation visit for all three programmes in the School
of Hospitality and Tourism
Management took place in December 2004.
Professional programmes offered in the University are also
accredited by the relevant professional bodies.
The B. Sc. Hospitality and Tourism Management, a degree
offered jointly with the University of the West Indies (www.uwimona.edu.jm),
is accredited by the Hotel and Catering International Management
Association (www.hcima.com).
The Caribbean School of Architecture’s programmes (B. A.
Architectural Studies and M. Arch.) are accredited by the
Commonwealth Association of Architects (www.comarchitect.org).
