The Financial Aid Office
assists students with all aspects of financial planning.
Prospective students are advised to budget not only for tuition
fees but also for other expenses such as accommodation, meals,
books, equipment and projects.

Procedures for applying for
Financial Aid
Scholarships are
awarded mainly to full-time students (undergraduate and post
graduate)
The following documents are required:
- Application letters /
forms
- Current resume
- CXC/GCE, A’ Levels
Certificate for first year students
- Progress Report(s) for
returning students.
Evaluation of candidates is
based on their:
- Academic Performance
- Financial Need
- Extra-curricular
Activities
- Leadership Ability
- Interview Performance
The Financial Aid Office will
submit Progress Reports of recipients annually to the Sponsors.
Continuation of awards is dependent on satisfactory academic
performance.
Earn and Study (Campus
Employment)
Employment on campus is provided for students through the Earn
and Study Programme. The Earn and Study and Financial Aid Office
Grants Programmes are financed by the Welfare Fund and the
Government of Jamaica’s Social Economic Support Programme (SESP).

Deadline for applications is
the end of the first week of the Academic Year
All students participating in the prograsmme must participate
in the orientation programme, designed by the Financial Aid
Office.
Grants
A limited number of Financial Aid Office Grants are given to
students who are experiencing severe economic hardships. Grants
are normally given to second, third and fourth year students. In
exceptional circumstances first year students may access Grants.
Financial Aid Office Grants
assist students with:
- Tuition Fees
- Minor Medical Expenses
- Lunch (tickets for
cafeteria)
- Bus Fares
- Books
- Rent
- Clothing for Teaching
Practice and Seminars/Workshops
To qualify for grants
applicants must demonstrate need. They are required to complete
the prescribed application form and submit a letter attesting to
need from a Minister of Religion, Justice of the Peace or
Lecturer. Progress Report (s) must also be submitted.
Please Note: Students who
receive scholarships grants from the Students’ Loan Bureau are
not eligible for Financial Aid Office Grants but may participate
in the Earn and Study Programme.
*The Students Loan
Bureau provides loans to students for their tuition fees. Some
students also receive grants. Application forms are available
