This web page provides information for all students who may
qualify to attend the Graduation Ceremony, to be held
November 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m.
Registration

Graduates are required to
register for graduation during the period September 18 to
October 6, 2006 between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
(Monday– Friday) at the Student Records Office, on the
ground floor of the Administration Building.
For verification of
identity, you must present either of the following:
- Your 2005/2006 UTech ID
card;
- A valid driver’s
license; or
- A valid passport.
Please note:
Only registered graduates will be permitted to participate
in the ceremony and
All outstanding obligations to the
University
must be cleared prior to registration.
At registration you will:
- Complete the Graduation
Registration Form
- Take the completed form
to the Accounts Department to obtain clearance of any
obligations
- Pay registration fee
- Return Stamped form to
the graduation desk at the Student Records Office of the
Administration Building

COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATES AFTER GRADUATION
Graduates who do not collect their certificates at the
ceremony may collect them as of December 4, 2006 from the
Student Records Office, Main Administration Building, upon
presentation of a valid driver’s license or passport.
The 2005/2006 UTech ID card will be accepted until the
end of December 2006.
COLLECTION & RETURN OF GOWNS
Graduates are required to wear gowns, which may be
collected between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
(Monday - Thursday) and 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (Fridays),
from September 18 to November 3, 2006.
Gowns are to be collected at the Facilities Management
Department.
Gowns should be returned to the designated area at the
National Arena immediately after the ceremony, or by the
latest November 17, 2006. Thereafter, the amount to be
refunded will be forfeited.
Graduates are required to bring their receipt as proof of
payment. No refunds will be made without the presentation of
the receipt.
When the gowns are returned in good condition, the
deposit, less the administrative costs, will be refunded.
Dress Code
The congregation for the presentation of graduates is
formal and graduates to be presented to the Chancellor are
required to follow the dress code for the ceremony, that is
the University Graduate Gown with appropriate Hood. The
wearing of corsage & boutonnieres is not permitted.
Women
Strictly - Modest White dresses (other colours are not
permitted.)
Males
Strictly - Dark Lounge Suits. The wearing of T-shirts and
jeans is prohibited.
The Graduation Ceremony

Graduates will be required to assemble at the National
arena at 8:00 a.m. in the designated area in preparation for
the procession. Marshals will place you in alphabetical
order. Please remain in place once you have been checked by
the marshals.
Graduation Guests
Each graduate will be allowed to bring two guests to the
ceremony. Tickets must be collected at registration, and
presented for entry to the ceremony.
Guests (including children) with tickets will be
seated first.

Rehearsals
Rehearsal will be held on:
Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. at the National
Arena.
Please be on time.
Photographs
The official photographer assigned to the University is
Bryan’s Photo Studios Limited.
Receiving Certificate Photographs
Only the official photographer will be allowed to take
photographs during the ceremony. No portraits will be taken
on Graduation Day.
Graduation Photo Package
The Graduation Photo Package will consist of fifteen
(15), [1 - 5 x 7] photographs receiving your certificate on
stage, fourteen (14), 1 - 5 x 7 portraits four (4) wallets
and nine (9) mini wallets].
Portraits will be taken at the studio only.
Packages will be done at Bryan’s Photo Studio from
September 18, 2006 on presentation of payment vouchers, by
appointments only.
Make-up for Portraits
Make-up will also be available at the studio, from
September 18, 2006; Payments for which must be made at the
studio.

Late
Arrival For Ceremony
For an orderly ceremony, we request you observe the
following:
- If you arrive after at the start of the procession of
graduates, you must sit in the audience.
- Your name will not be called.
However, you will be able to collect your certificate
after the ceremony.
