Throughout the academic year the
University assists students by administering a
wide variety of awards, bursaries and scholarships
donated by firms, industrial enterprises,
government agencies and concerned individuals.
These are normally awarded on the basis of
performance at the University after the student's
first or second year.
Purpose
The purpose of the Financial Aid
Programme at the University is to assist students
who have demonstrated financial need. Funds
utilized for student financial aid come mainly
from the following sources:

The Jamaican Government Student
Support Fund (available to Jamaican nationals
who are not holders of scholarships or bursaries
in excess of J$10,000).

Financial assistance falls into
three main categories, viz.,

GRANTS: Demonstrated need; no
repayment.

within specified time frames.
