Administrative Management Programme

Programme Director's Message

Moore's Law states inter alia, that the rate of change in information technologies double very 18 - 24 months. Some of the advances that interest us most include the fact that information processing time is falling dramatically while data storage is getting cheaper and more efficient. These advances are of interest to us because they suggest that organizations will be able to capture much greater volumes of data and will have the capacity to process this data much more efficiently than was previously the case. We anticipate that the challenge organizations will face in the future is a shortage of human resources who understand information technologies and who can articulate a strategy which leverages information and knowledge management to provide firms with a sustainable competitive advantage.

We in the Administrative Management programme, in response to this challenge, have developed an Administrative Management major that is designed to produce graduates who understand the role that information and knowledge management plays in enhancing the productivity of an organization's capital and human resources, and who has the competencies to harness information technologies to achieve efficiencies and effectiveness at the strategic, tactical and operational levels of an organization.
