Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

PROGRAMME TITLE

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme aims to train engineering technologists who will practice in that portion of the technological spectrum, which deals with product improvement, manufacturing and engineering operational functions. The programme is characterised by its focus on application and practice and its emphasis on the laboratory and workshop experience.

The first two (2) years of the programme is common for all mechanical engineering students, but in the third year of the programme students select three (3) technical elective courses. The selection of these technical electives will impart either a plant engineering or production engineering bias to their programme of study.
