The research activities involve the study of innovate
improvement of chemical and biological products, optimisation and
cost effective analyses of manufacturing processes, by designing
new products and improving the quality of existing.
Objectives
§
Modify, adapt and use existing technologies to produce chemical and
biological products.
§
Develop new technologies by formulating and evaluating projects.
§
Identify, formulate and solve biochemical and chemical engineering
problems in industries using the theories, principles and
knowledge of bioprocess engineering.

Select equipment, materials and operation based on research to produce
chemical and biological products at laboratory, pilot and
industrial scale.

This group is engaged in the selection of treatment
alternatives or disposal options of all types of waste (domestic
and industrial). Also involves conduction of environmental tools
such as, Environmental Impact and Risk Assessments, and
Environmental Audits to reduce the impact due to changes in
natural or manmade ecosystems due to natural (earthquake,
hurricane, etc.) or anthropogenic activities (industrial waste,
hazardous waste, etc.).
