is the Self-Access Learning Centre (SALC?)
The
Self-Access Learning Centre (SALC) is located in Room 8A3
of the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies, It provides opportunities for
members of the University community to upgrade their
oral
and written language and communication
skills in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. There are Three Hundred and Eighty-five
students presently
enrolled.
Although
this multi-media centre allows for self-determined independent study, you will
be able to benefit from the guidance of a facilitator, should you need one.
You
can use the Centre's resources to improve your skills in:

Monitored, individualized programmes of self instruction presented in a learning
environment which is non-threatening and stimulating.

do I get involved?
Please
follow these steps

Create
personal card - name, faculty course, I.D. No.

Thoughtfully
fill out the entire questionnaire.

Do
the diagnostic test suggested
-
Make
an appointment to see the facilitator
-
Negotiate
and sign a personal contract
-
Begin
work as assigned.
-
Meet
with your facilitator when necessary.

Complete
work undertaken in contract.

Fill
out exit questionnaire.
-
Sign
out.
