COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Health Services Management Certificate Programme provides participants with formalized instruction and training in health services management for mid-level administration positions within the public and private health sectors in the Caribbean. Its main goal is to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and positive attitudes necessary for the efficient management of health services.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates find employment as mid- or upper-level administrators in the health-care system locally or in the Caribbean area.

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Minimum of three GCE "O" Levels ("A," "B" or "C") or CXC General Proficiency passes including English Language and Mathematics at grades 1 and 2 (and 3 as of June 1998).

OR

Have obtained in an appropriate field of study, a degree, diploma or certificate from an approved institution

OR

Be at least 25 years old with at least two (2) years’ relevant experience in the field of Health Services and an educational background judged adequate by the University. In addition, a reference from a work supervisor must be submitted.
