Message from Alumni Relations

As Associate Vice President, Advancement with responsibility for Alumni Relations, I and Miss Cheryll Messam, our Alumni Relations Manager, feel truly privileged to be among the first to congratulate you on achieving this significant milestone of becoming a graduate of the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Ja.).  You are now part of a remarkable history and a fine tradition of excellence. UTech, Ja. has so much to be proud of and all of which is made possible by the support from each member of the UTech, Ja. family. However, we take special pride in the accomplishments of you our Graduating Class of 2015.

We are honoured that you chose to be a part of the UTech, Ja. family and we in the Alumni Relations Office, look forward to journeying with you in this next stage of your personal and professional development, post graduation. Our mission is three fold: 1) to connect our alumni to each other to ensure networking benefits for personal, professional and business development; 2) to connect our alumni to the University to build UTechís volunteer, donor and advocacy capacity; and 3) to connect our alumni to our current student body, so that our students are connected with persons who can inspire them to overcome challenges, attain seemingly elusive goals and achieve success!

Apart from our Alumni Relations Office, which is a unit within the Universityís organizational structure, there are other independent affiliate groups which also share alumni interests.  For example, The Alumni Association, UTech; the Alumni Chapters in Florida and New York; and the Alumni Special Interest Groups such as the Pharmacy and Architecture Alumni Groups are key organizations, which are also committed to providing you with networking support for personal, professional & business development; as well as opportunities to remain connected to our University. These various alumni affiliates have been strong and effective supporters of UTech, Ja. and annually have provided support through scholarships for students; job search opportunities for fellow alumni; and donations of equipment and other resources. We recommend that you join the Association or a Chapter or a Special Interest Group near you or of interest to you, and offer your creative ideas through membership on their sub-committees. We in the Alumni Relations Office can connect you with the various affiliate groups. So contact us today at ph: 876-970-5468 or if you are ready to join the Alumni Association, UTech, Ja., we have dedicated a page on the Universityís Alumni Blog to share their application with you for download at http://utechalumni.wordpress.com/alumni-association-utech-membership-application-form/

We in the Alumni Relations Office look forward meeting you and serving you. We are available and only too happy to discuss your ideas and feedback, as well as share tips on job hunting and career & business development. We are ready to support your success, so stay in touch!
