  • Internally there is a need to optimise on the multimedia capabilities of our fibre-optic campus ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) backbone and to integrate this within our communications plan.

  • There is a greater possibility to merge training in traditional media with interactive technologies by involving the entire campus community in the selection, preparation and posting of files in these new media formats.

  • An opportunity to share the resources of the Calvin McKain library by digitising and codifying the existing media resources such as video, audio and images in the library's audio-visual centre.

  • Studies quoted in the online New York Times state that Internet listeners have doubled worldwide with declarations such as " the PC will be the radio tuner for the next generation" and we are witnessing "the death of network TV".

  • Potential user delights involve creating and personalizing your own channels while advertisers and brand marketers relish the possibilities of precise psycho-graphics.

  • Even workplaces are now shifting towards the individual headphones rather than the traditionally centralised radio receiver options.
