The Caribbean School of Architecture  launched  UTech’s  first online learning course on Monday, March 27, 2000. The course ,”Philosophies in Architecture” is part of the Master’s Degree programme in Architecture and was the first in a series of online courses branded “UTech Virtual Learning” community.

The course offers learners a unique experience for self-directed learning and online tutor facilitation using an interactive multimedia design. There is a rich mix of synchronous tools such as:

•  application sharing

•  audio conferencing

•  video conferencing 

Other asynchronous tools include:

•  e-mail

•  chat zones

•  whiteboards

•  posted discussion messages.

 The course is a collaboration effort and was developed  by the Caribbean School of Architecture, the UTech Multimedia Centre and its private sector partner, VILCOMM Services International Limited.
