Message from the Student's Union President
On completion of the registration and orientation process, you have officially
joined the 395 students’ on the Halls of Residence at this prestigious and noble
institution, the University of Technology, Jamaica.
On behalf of the Students’ Union Council, it gives me great pleasure to welcome
all new and returning students to the Halls of Residence.
As you may have surmised, life on dorm is not a “walk in the park” but the Students’
Union, with its two Hall chair representatives pledge that your stay away from home
will be comfortable. Every effort will be made to ensure your Hall experience is
positive and rewarding, we ask that you bring to our Hall chairpersons’attention
any area that needs improvement.
The Hall of Residence support a holistic approach to your education by providing,
opportunities for you to become involved in various co-curricular activities including
Sports, Arts and Culture, and Community Service. I encourage you to become involved
in these activities to enhance your campus experience. Make the Halls your favourite
place, and do utilize the facilities with much care as if they were your very own.
The Students’ Union Office is available to facilitate your many needs whether you
choose to visit or call. Again, we welcome you to the UTech family and the Halls
of Residence and encourage you to make your experience here a memorable one.
