Accredited by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ) ANNUAL REPORT 2018-2019 University of Technology, Jamaica 36 STUDENTS’ UNION The Students’ Union was engaged in a number of initiatives to enhance the student experience on the University’s campuses in keeping with the motto, “To Serve and To Represent.” These initiatives included meetings with the University’s senior administration, hosting of the annual Club and Societies Day, Tag Drive and the annual Teach the Youth Programme. Students listen to presentations at a mass meeting held at the Western Campus. The annual Tag Drive was held November 10 – 16, 2019 under the theme “Restoring Hope: One Tin at a Time” All proceeds raised benefited the following charities: Muriton Boys Home, Hebron House and the Jamaica National Children’s Home. A student mass meeting was held on November 1, 2018. The Programme Director, CSON And other staff members made presentations during the meeting. The student leaders hosted the following activities between September and October 2018: Law Week, SOBA Week, Clubs and Societies Day, Games Day, Health Fair for the Barnett Street community and Jersey Day. Clubs and Societies Day was held on October 4, 2018. Six clubs were on show; UTAB, CAM, UCCF, Circle K, Rotaract and Performing Arts. Miss Tia Ferguson President
