Students’ Union
A strong student government will make your entire institution stronger
and as such these student leaders must be able to truly represent, the
voice of students at all levels. The University of Technology, Jamaica
Students’ Union Council is the governing student body responsible for the
holistic development of the populace, ensuring that provisions are made
to improve the experience of each student throughout their tenure.
The responsibilities of the Council includes but is not limited to:
the provision of financial assistance, social opportunities, physical,
educational, and spiritual development for each student. With that said;
the Councils’ motto which is
“To Serve and To Represent”
the students,
is the platform on which it aims to drive all activities for the growth and
development of the student populace.
The Students’ Union Council consists of both elected and appointed
memberswhich formtheBoardof Executives, theBoardof Representatives
and the Board of Directors and the Advisors. The executive body overseas
all the boards and additionally the Stu ents’ Unio Western Sub- Cou cil.
The Board of Executives consist of the following individuals: The President,
The First Vice President, Academic Affairs and Clubs and Societies, Vice
President Finance, Vice President Public Relations, Vice President Student
Services and The Executive Secretary.
