Dress Code

The dress code is simple: exercise UTech’s dress policy of “Modest is best”.  Conference t-shirts will be issued at the beginning of the week. These t-shirts are required to be worn each day and will be in the colour of your group.

 

Appropriate attire can be described as clothing that does not distract, and does not call attention to itself or to the wearer’s physique. Casual clothing is ideal, provided it is not one of the following articles, which are absolutely PROHIBITED:

  •       Cut-off shorts
  •       Miniskirts, extremely short high slits or long skirts with slits past the mid-thigh.
  •       Torn, low-rise, frayed, or otherwise revealing jeans
  •       Tube tops, tank tops, or tops with thin spaghetti straps
  •       Tops must be of sufficient length so that no midriff skin shows
  •       Low-cut or plunging necklines
  •       Undershirts (worn as top shirts)
  •       Any clothing item described as lingerie
  •       Any clothing with alcohol or tobacco products, absence or questionable printing
  •       No extremely oversized pants or shorts. Pants and shorts must be worn above the hips – no sagging.
  •       No “see through” clothing, No apparel that is too revealing and distracts from the learning environment.
  •       Underwear must not be shown! This includes any other type of clothing that resembles underwear.

What you are permitted to wear

 

Evenings

      Dress to impress in the evenings to the dining room. Female are to wear a blouse and a skirt or pants and Males are to wear Buttoned shirts or Polo Shirts and slacks.

 

Days

      Jeans and assigned T-shirts at all day sessions

What to bring

  •       Student leader should wear comfortable clothes and shoes (athletic shoes)
  •       Swimsuits (must be a full one piece/ long two piece/Tankini swimsuit)
  •       Face Cloth and Bath Towel
  •       Sunscreen (if required)
  •       Rain-wear (umbrella/raincoat)
  •       Bed linens (including your pillow) sheets, sleeping bags (it is cold at nights)
  •       Flashlight/Torch
  •       Toiletries (including toilet paper, deodorant and soap).
  •       Sweater/ Jackets it gets cold
  •       Off- Mosquito Spray
  •       Necessary medications (Asthma pumps etc.)

What not to bring

  •       Radios
  •       Non-personal (meaning without headset) MP3/CD/DVD/tape players and Portable TV’s and radios
  •       Inappropriate magazines
  •       Clothing with vulgar or offensive graphics
  •       Tobacco, alcohol, and drugs
  • Expensive watches or jewelry, etc.
