Welcome

Dear Student Leaders,

We are delighted to have you here to participate in the 22nd Annual Student Leadership Conference, celebrated under the theme ‘The Power of YOU; Unlocking your Purpose and Passion. The Conference aims to empower student leaders with the required leadership and management ideals deemed necessary for effective running of your various portfolios. The hardworking members of the Leadership Planning Committee has diligently put together an exciting menu of initiatives which are geared at creating responsible world class leaders.  The success of this conference is dependent on you and we encourage you to be prepared to challenge yourself to hone the personal and professional skills which are necessary to lead in an era which is riddled with obstacles - mainly associated with the current pandemic.

We therefore recognize the extreme importance of this retreat but we must be mindful that the COVID-19 Virus is still plaguing the country; in fact, there is currently a steady increase in cases. Based on this, we are asking that you all to observe the following protocols and recommendations to ensure the safe staging of this year’s Leadership Retreat:

  1. Do not attend this event if you are showing any flu-like symptom, if tested for the COVID-19 Virus and are not yet in receipt of a negative result, or if quarantined.
  2. Mask wearing is required in all closed spaces and encouraged where adequate distancing cannot be maintained e.g. during brainstorming or whilst standing in lines.
  3. Equip yourselves with hand-sanitizers - this is in addition to that which will be provided in dispensers.
  4. Practice hand-washing as often as is necessary.
  5. Physical distancing, whilst not mandated, is highly recommended especially where the space permits same.
  6. Only the assigned students should be accommodated in the designated rooms.
  7. Avoid physical contact and sharing personal items, eg. hugs, handshakes, sharing straws, phones, etc.
  8. Immediately report if you are feeling ill or experiencing any flu-like symptoms.

We are looking forward to an exciting Student Leadership Conference and we are glad you could join us. We wish you a successful and rewarding experience here and as you continue to serve the student population.

Stay mindful and safe!
